The New Normal
This project "The New Normal, 2020" covers the impact the Covid19 pandemic has had on British society. The coronavirus outbreak started in December 2019 in Wuhan, China. The virus spread across the world within a couple of months causing a pandemic. The UK went into full lockdown on 23rd March 2020. Meaning all non-essential shops, business and organisations were closed, this includes clothing and technology shops, schools and universities, restaurants, beauty salons, hairdressers, gyms and parks. Signs were put up all around the country encouraging people to keep a 2 meter distance and to only leave home if it is essential. The streets were empty for a long while, people covered their faces with mask and wore gloves in an attempt to not catch the virus. People were not allowed to meet with people who don't live in their house hold. Children created rainbow sign to put in their windows and people clapped outside their door or window every Thursday to shop appreciation to the NHS.
I've documented different areas of my life during the UK lockdown in an attempt to make it more personal to me. Photographing the things I'd seen on the days I left my house.
